OUR 4 MONTHS ITALIAN ADVENTURE ( LA NOSTRA AVENTURA) – SAN VINCENZO,ITALY

Hi All,

After settling in our cute small house, we decided to take the train towards Livorno. Trains are not expensive in Italy – a ticket  to Livorno from Follonica  is 8 Euros/person (one way).  You have 6 hours to reach your destination, and you can stop and see the different towns prior to reaching your destination.  Our 1st. stop was San Vincenzo, this town is part of the Province of Livorno, and is part of the region of Tuscany.

To my surprise as soon as we left the station – there is this gorgeous furniture store – I was in heaven!!!! The name of the store is Garden House Lazzerini, and here are a few of the pieces that caught my eye…..  Let me tell you – that if my suitcase would be big enough I would bring them with me…  I know, I know….. on my last post I said that I was not into shopping on this trip and that I prefer to get to know the cities etc…. well I can only say that if my suitcase would be big enough, I would be in trouble.

This baby seats 12 people very comfortable… it is solid wood and it retails ( drummmsss!!!) for 3,500 Euros.  It is very similar to the reclaimed wood tables in Toronto, but this one is not made out of reclaimed wood.

This desk  caught my eye.. it is so delicate and pretty – love how the  the soft white and grey colours look together.

For a bathroom this looks so simple and elegant – the top part is limestone and the sink is in marmol.

I can see this dining set in one of those old villas …. is so rustic and natural looking.IMG_3111

Italian cities all have “the centro” in San Vicenzo it is located in Via Vittorio Emanuelle..  you will find nice boutiques, as well as restaurants.

the yatch area close to the sea… it was really a cute little town. It was sad that it was cold and cloudy, and when we arrived there it was “siesta” time so most of the stores were closed…. but it was worth stopping to see it… This is one that for sure we will be back once the weather starts getting warmer.

This tower was built in the 1770 and during the summer you can go to the top and have a look at the sea….

We decided that it was time to take the train to our next destination Livorno – so we did.  We arrived to Livorno and as we started to walk towards “the centro” the sky was so dark, the winds were crazy and start pouring.   You couldn’t walk on the streets so we found a store and waited, waited and waited.  After 45 minutes the rain calm down a little bit, but it was so cold and windy that we decided to go back to Follonica…  We will come back to Livorno at a later date to see it…

While we waited we took a picture of Gigi!!!!

We will be renting a car to visit some of the towns that don’t have train access,  come back and read the blog so you can see and read more about our adventures in Italy.

Ciao,

Roxana
